It has taken so much time to dismantle a home of thirty-five years and to (begin to) set up a new one, that I have all but lost my blogging mojo. Posts remain in my head, or even languishing away in my draft folder. In an attempt to jump start some regular blogging, I am going to post a few random thoughts and photos in Five on Friday. Here goes...
ONE
Mother's Day was the occasion for the first holiday gathering at The Pineapple House. It was everything that I had hoped it would be. There were twenty-one people here, everyone sat at a table to eat dinner, and there was room to spare. (In another post, I'd like to share a few family photos from that day.)
TWO
Pinky is enjoying the new sun room.
THREE
I am quite excited to discover what plants are living here in our new yard. I understand that Miz Elle was quite the gardener, and we are reaping the beauty of her labors. I am especially thrilled to have many beautiful azalea bushes, as we were never successful in getting any established at The Farmhouse.
FOUR
This book. Sally and Sarah Clarkson beautifully express so much of what I believe about home life.
FIVE
A little reading before the school day begins. Oh wait...that IS the beginning of the school day when life is learning is life.
I understand exactly what you're saying about drafting posts, but not getting them done. Hope you enjoy your new home.

Cheryl, I haven't moved but I feel sluggish about blogging. I think much energy is directed to settling into your new home. What a lovely wicker set you have in your sun room. ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely new home. I moved into my house in February and I remember being so excited that spring to see all the plants that were in the yard. Your azaleas are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteFrom just the little glimpse I got of your new sun-room I have a feeling I'd be spending LOTS of time there...I can only imagine how much effort goes into a move after 35 years! It was 25 for us when we moved here and it just seemed to take forever. The azalea is gorgeous! Enjoy your week-end

ReplyDeletePerhaps blogging will feel like a diversion from the intensity of moving and unpacking. One thing is sure, blogging can take over if it is allowed to. I will be thrilled to find a post and will understand when I do not.

ReplyDeleteI hope each day brings new pleasure and surprises as you learn life in your new home. The sunporch looks so wonderful! And glad you have those azaleas. We have many down here in the south and they come out towards the end of spring. I enjoy picking some and bringing inside. How fitting to have your first holiday in your new house Mother's Day! I too have been away from blogging due to travel and it's been actually a good break but I miss reading others'.

Cheryl, I really enjoyed reading this post and the last one about your new home. It's beautiful! I read some of your post the other day but put the computer down before I got to comment.
