Easter Playlist

The house has been cleaned.

We've made a coffee run.

And now the girls and I are in the kitchen preparing food for our Resurrection Day dinner.

As we cook, we are listening (and singing) to a playlist of wonder-full music that will be playing at our celebration tomorrow. Songs that tell of the death, burial and resurrection of our great Savior!

Perhaps you'd like to listen (and sing) too . . .

Hallelujah, what a Savior!

  1. Oh my! That’s an excellent playlist! Lots of different songs and everything from Annie Herring to Fernando Ortega to The Collingsworth Family. So I have been sitting down here under your kitchen window with a few other folks for quite some time now. You girls sound so good singing along! And what are those heavenly aromas?

    Many blessings this Easter!🌷

      Many blessings to you too!

  2. Wow I haven't heard that song in ages--years--so good to hear again. I think I took a cassette (yes!) to Africa with us of 2nd Chapter Of Acts and this was on it, but maybe an older version. I hope you have a wonderful celebration tomorrow. I sure wrestled with the deviled eggs this morning. Not sure what all went on but it wasn't pretty, though they survived and so did I ! :-)

    1. "Easter Song" is old school, isn't it? My sister, her sister-in-law, and I sang the song back in the '80s. It seems like a long time ago, but the message is timeless!

So the deviled eggs were devilish, huh? I had a few interesting shapes with mine, but I don't think anyone will mind. In fact, they might get a kick out of a deviled egg shaped like a tulip! (Really! I'll have to take a pic . . . )

    1. I am glad that you're enjoying it! My techie secret? Kati! (I wouldn't have had a clue.) She had done part of it last year, and added more songs this year. She added me as a "collaborator" and I actually added one song. I felt very accomplished. ;)

  6. Oh thank you! Loved to hear that old song again from 2nd Chapter of Acts.

One of my favourite all-time Resurrections songs is He's Alive by Don Francisco. I just listened to it on youtube. I've had Easter service right there in my study. It still stirs me to the core.

Many wishes for a blessed and life-giving celebration!

    1. Brenda, I peeked in yesterday between church and family arriving and I followed your link. Yes! I had forgotten about this song, but I quickly added it to my playlist so we were able to enjoy it yesterday. Thank you!

  7. What a great playlist! I'm certain your celebration was a wonderful one! We spent yesterday preparing too, and I enjoyed working alongside Sarah for most of it. (Rachel had to work) Kyle is a great helper to me too, running up and down the stairs, etc.

Tim and I heard Don Francisco's He's Alive yesterday on the radio and it was a blast from the past, but still stirring!

    1. Thanks, Deanna! We had a great day!

Don't you love preparing for holidays along with your children? That can be as much a part of the festivities as the actual meal. We work together, reminisce about past years, talk up a storm, and connect. Love it!

  8. Thanks for the other recommendations of the music...yes, a "blast from the past". So wonderful that we have that option to choose our own music now! Your preparations sort of sound like mine too. Happy Easter!
