Sometimes she had candy corn, but most often it was the soft, chalky peppermint sticks. When we visited her (which was probably weekly) we always got a piece of candy (plus, we loved to use the outhouse;)!Angelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11718137744623626322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596988245744679027.post-19431688131947915702014-05-27T18:56:42.004-04:002014-05-27T18:56:42.004-04:00What a perfectly wonderful idea! So when they ARE coming, I fill the pantry with all their favorites. My Dad's stepfather had a cabinet that was built into the wall right next to his reclining chair that held loads of all sorts of candy. I thought they were so rich. I had heard my mother talk about how expensive sugar was getting to be and with all that candy and as sweet as my grandmother made her iced tea, they must've been rolling in dough ;-) And Pop-pop always had a quarter for us when we went home. Rich, indeed! Thank you for bringing up such a fun memory!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01076138629863759234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596988245744679027.post-68749738689919929682014-05-26T10:29:00.295-04:002014-05-26T10:29:00.295-04:00Great post and great idea!
