The real estate listing for this house did not show any photos of the dining room (or even mention that it existed), so we were doubtful that the house would work for us. On the day that we first saw it, I stepped from the kitchen into the dining room and saw that it adjoined the living room and I knew that it was perfect for our family!Cheryl https://www.blogger.com/profile/00063844335185525553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6596988245744679027.post-49532260826488407782018-04-07T09:33:41.930-04:002018-04-07T09:33:41.930-04:00Martha Ellen, that you for sharing that memory wit...Martha Ellen, that you for sharing that memory with me! Your post reminded me of him on Easter Sunday looking at me smiling broadly singing this hymn in the pew of my old home church. The joy on his face will never leave my memory.
Your table is set with such care and love befitting the special day. The sweet name cards are so lovely. So few families think to do them. I must try to get my family on board with that concept.

Knowing such a sweet thing about your great-grandfather’s love of that dear hymn makes the day just that much more special. My aunt told me that she spent a lot of time with her great-grandfather and that he was a tall man with a bicycle handle mustache. She loved him. He was good and kind, but no precious story about faith. Still I added the information to my notebook.

And I have been admiring the table setting with the name tags at each place. I think that makes each one feel very special.
