Where Are My Possessions?

 
I spent some time today caring for my possessions. 

Tidying them. Dusting them. Mopping. Vacuuming. Washing. 

As I vacuumed around the piano, I glanced up at the hymn calendar and read these words: 

On Jordan's stormy banks I stand 
And cast a wishful eye
To Canaan's fair and happy Land
Where my possessions lie.

And as I read I was reminded of where my true possessions lie. 

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Colossians 3:2
