As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Today




So often, I want to see a clear path laid out before me. I want to know what I am supposed to do next week, next month, next year. I like order and I like safety and I like to plan.

And yet . . . is not this journey to Heaven a walk of faith?

Today, I need to seek His face.

Today, I need to accept His plan for me.

Today, I need to choose to obey.

Today, I need to live fully.

Today, I need to take the next step.

Today, I need to trust Him for the future.

    I am back to say "thank you' for the soup recipe, I will bookmark it as we enjoy soup around here! And yes, I do have a tendency to wear my family out on a recipe!~smile~

    I also enjoyed your post about the sleepover, thinking as I was observing how much the grands are growing, and of all the memories being made. You all are so blessed to live so near one another. We will soon be saying 'goodby' to our last as she is moving a far piece away!

      We are indeed blessed to be near one another! There were many years that some of my grands lived far away, so I am always conscious of the fact that this time together is a gift! It must be so hard to think of saying good-bye to your last near one! Praying for you!

I think so many are encouraged by this post because it is where we live. It is a daily choice to accept today and trust Him with the future, and it is not always an easy choice to make!
