I'm afraid to say that after hearing about someone on Craiglist who was trying to sell an "automan" (ottoman ~wink~), the word has become a part of my vocabulary. And I have been looking for an automan for Kati's room for years. Whenever I'd come across one, either the color was not right or the price was not right...or both.
Then The Nester did a post about cubes. That she purchased at Walmart. For $15.00. White. Okay!

By the time I got to my Walmart, they were $10.00! Okay!
Kati was happy with her automan. She'd finally have a place to prop up her feet as she read. Or a place to plop down a craft project. Or an extra seat in a pinch.
Then I drug it into Bekah's room and tried it out there. Yep, it looked great there too.
Back to Walmart to get an automan for Bekah. (For 10 bucks, why didn't I think of that in the first place?)
Even Pinky has been enjoying the automans (automen?).
Talk about bang for the buck!
What's the last low investment purchase you made that gave you a thrill?
Ohhh...I've not seen those. I hope that they have some sort of cushion or else that's going to get hard on the heels. Very nice looking and great price. Hmmm...wonder if a trip to Wal*Mart is in order. Nester may have started something!
ReplyDeleteWe are very fond of ottomans in England, and they are so nice for resting the feet (or the cat!)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen that version of the word!
Ah yes, feet up is so restful, and other uses too. Great idea. I enjoyed your morning post too! And love the blue room color especially!
ReplyDeleteI love those cubes.
ReplyDeleteI recently added a huge (2 foot by 3 foot) life rules print to our living room. It costed all of $3.81 to print and went into a poster frame I had on hand...I'm loving it!
I got a pair of Gymboree shoes for Alaine recently for FREE. That was a thrill. Finding that hardback set of Lord of the Rings books for Kati for FREE was also a thrill. (Think I have some of Dad in me?) As far as inexpensive purchases, I found a pair of jeans last week that I love for $9. :-)
ReplyDelete@ Kristin...yes, you are your father's daughter. :D
ReplyDeleteOh I love a bargain, always did! Cute cubes, and I love the birdie pillow in Bekah's room./ xo
ReplyDeleteWOW thats a bargain & they look fabulous...LOL "Automan" such a crack up, sounds like one of us aussie bogans!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteI love Kati's bird pillow on her chair! Did she make it?
Have a wonderful Saturday!

Thanks for sharing this great deal, Cheryl! I know the feeling of going to buy something expecting to pay one price, and then getting a greater deal! I recently got a great deal on some new dishes!
ReplyDeleteI never pay full price if I can help it.~smile~
Enjoyed your Resurrection snapshots, and catching up on your other posts.
Blessings,
Sue
Wow! A fabulous deal, and they look wonderful in the bedrooms. Erin and Audrey don't use the chairs in their bedrooms as much as I thought they would. Perhaps if I bought a couple of automans (automen} they'd be more comfortable!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Wow looks fabulous and what a deal!
ReplyDeleteLove those! Hmmm..... on a much smaller scale, I got some stacking bins -- dishpan size- for less than $3 each. My daughter and I use them to store our sewing/craft projects.
