As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Gathering the Moments of March

On this ninth day of April, I am gathering the moments of March.

It was a lion-and-lamb month for sure. (And I'm not just referring to the weather!) Whew...what a whirlwind! Those details shall remain behind the scenes, but I can say that all is well and God is faithful and we have all learned things in the whirlwind.

God's faithfulness.

March illustrates God's faithfulness, maybe more than any other month. The Lord promised the return of the seasons. As long as the earth remains.
"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease." (Genesis 8:22)

He promised.

At the beginning of March, however, it doesn't feel that spring is coming. Ever. It is dark, cold, gray, and brown. No signs of life. But then, even when you can hardly imagine it, it comes. We welcome it with open arms, with delight! Daffodils. Buds. Tulips. Sunlight. Hallelujah!

Sometimes -- no, all the time -- this is a life of faith! Faith that He is working when we cannot see. Faith that He will do what He has promised. Faith that He is always good.

  1. Okay, I am losing it. I was certain that I had left a comment already...if this is a duplicate, you can give it the boot. Some months are easy to say goodbye to. All of them have been here since December. LOL! A lot of life lived, a lot of lessons learned, time to move forward for good things are ahead! Is there anything cuter than those bunny knees?! Hope that classes are going well for Kati. She looks like a natural in those scrubs!

I notice that there was no official holiday in March but your pictures show such celebration! I think that is the thankfulness that just seems to radiate from you. Your family is blessed!
