As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Gathering {To Dine, To Celebrate, To Sing}
Last week the ladies of our family gathered at the beautiful home of my niece Amy...
What a wonderful festive time at your neice's home. You are so fortunate to live close to your relatives, Cheryl. The children are just the cutest--I love the photo of your daughter playing the piano and the little one sitting on the bench turned the other way! It won't be long before you welcome a new addition to your family. What a wonderful blessing. ♥
Just the way you photograph things shows the love you have for family and the wonderful details you notice. What a wonderful gathering … I think you ladies in the family have done this other years--maybe it's a tradition. I too love those piano bench photos!
Yes. Wonderful. Your family is very close and supportive of one another. Loved seeing the interactions and enjoyed seeing your little granddaughter react to the gifts. She is relinquishing a cherished position, but she is going to be such a good big sister.
How wonderful! Your photos are so special - I love the ones of Ivy sitting by the pianists, the cousins playing together, Alaine burrowing her sweet face in the soft pink outfit for her baby sister to come. Dear precious people. That is a lovely tradition of gathering together.
I love to see Christmas through the eyes of children, Cheryl,beautiful photos. I only wish I could have heard their voices as they were admiring the decorations! To be able to soon welcome a new baby to the family is the icing on the cake! Thank you for sharing! I am off to check some of your previous posts, as it seems catching up is par for the course for me!~smile~ I hope this note finds all are well! Blessings, Sue
I had come back to say how happy I am that your son Ryan will be moving back closer to home, your Thanksgiving post was awesome, you are high on my mentor's list, right near my Mother!~smile~
What a lovely celebration. My youngest sister was born close to Christmas way back when. Her older sisters (6 and 3) were smitten with this sweet 'real live doll' for Christmas that year.
Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places... Brenda xox
What a wonderful opportunity to get together and share the blessed coming event. Of two babies. One long ago, and one to come. Our 1st grandson was born on the 4th of December last year. That made it seem almost more special being near Christmas. Wishing you a blessed Christmas celebration! Congrats Grandma...
