Here we are, halfway through July, and I am gathering our JUNE moments . . . some big moments, some small, but all a part of our story.

Bekah's new car!
Also in June, we had a sweet visit with Kati, Andrew, and the children!
We played games, visited coffee shops, ate shrimp,
did puzzles, made homemade ice cream,
had brunch at an out-of-town coffee shop, went to an antique store,
visited Gammy, blew bubbles,
and celebrated Ellie's 5th and Andrew's 40th birthday!

At the end of the week, Ryan, Sarah, and family came to visit,
and the local family joined us to CELEBRATE our graduates, Bekah and Ben!

Before everyone left on Sunday, we had pizza and a little Father's Day celebration.
We hated to see everyone leave, but it had been a good visit!
(Well . . . there was one who was not so sad to see everyone leave. 🐈)

At the end of the month, I lost a precious friend.
She had not had an easy life, but now her struggles are over and, because she knew Him, she is forever with the Lord!
I am grateful that I knew her, that her final months were safe and secure, and that she was well-loved. I am also grateful that I had time to say good-bye.

I will close with these words of promise to all who are His, these words that I read to my friend in her last hours:
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in

Psalm 121 has a very special place in my heart, it was my late husband's favourite psalm and we often read it together.

Thank you, Great-Granny! There were some victories and many happy moments this month! Even my friend's homegoing was a victory, although we will certainly miss her here.
DeleteWhen I saw the picture of putting the puzzle together on the floor, I thought, how can she sit on the floor and do all that? Next picture, it's on the table!! So nice when family can stay and visit for a few days. You really get to know your grandchildren then.
ReplyDeleteHaha!! Melissa, we had put the puzzle table under the rolling cabinet in the sunroom weeks ago. Caleb was interested and Kati pulled it out. Believe it or not, I got down there for a little while to join the puzzling, but as soon as the kids went to bed, we put it on the table! Kati, Bekah, and I were invested in it and we finished it that evening. But we removed a few pieces so that Caleb could "finish" the puzzle in the morning. I think he was suspicious though. ;)
DeleteYou're right. It is having the kids here, or us at their house, for several days that really helps to get to know them!
Great alone time with your two daughters doing the puzzle! It also looks like you don't have neighbors that use their backyard much. It must be quiet out back.
DeleteWe did have lots of fun doing that puzzle together! Our neighborhood is fairly quiet (excepting an occasional outdoor party). But we also put a fence up across the backyard several years ago (I had to dig around my blog to see that the fence went up in 2020), and so we have some privacy.

DeleteI always enjoy your recaps of the month. June was full of family time. My favorite kind of time. Stringed lights are so nice to have in a patio setting. Smart placement for that plug! It is always nice to get a glimpse of Kati's family. Woohoo, a first car for Bekah! As far as salads go, we don't eat many. Sigh. Yours look delicious. A beautiful and comforting verse to share with your dear friend who is with her Savior...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen! Indeed, family time is wonderful! Bekah is happy with her car. It is actually her second. She loved her first car, but in April, the transmission died and it was too costly to repair.There was plenty of angst over what to buy, because she didn't want to spend a lot (she is frugal like her dad) and didn't yet have a full time job. But she found this car for a great price and in *excellent* condition and we consider it the Lord's provision for her.
