As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sixty-Five Years!

This past weekend we celebrated the sixty-fifth wedding anniversary of Ron's parents. What a milestone!

They have been blessed with sixty-five years together, (mostly) good health, eight children, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and a host of in-laws (or "out-laws" as my brother-in-law likes to say :-).

Sixty-four family members gathered to celebrate and honor their commitment to each other.

  1. I layed in bed last night and counted the attendees! I got to 65 and thought, "Oh, that's cool. Sixty-five people at a sixty-five anniversary." But I guess I counted wrong. :-(

  2. Congratulations to Ron's Mom and Dad on such a wonderfully long-lasting marriage. What a testimony to today's world! Cheryl, your pictures are wonderful. I always love getting a glimpse into your family's world. Kati's cake is gorgeous; looks very professional and yummy!
