As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Eavesdropping

Overheard last week while my grandchildren were playing...

GAVIN: Ben’s a dumpling.

Pause.

GAVIN: Even better—Ben’s an apple pie.

OWEN: Ben’s a cherry pie.

GAVIN: No, because I don’t like cherry pie.

So sweet! (Pun intended.)

The brothers (L to R): Ben, Owen, Gavin

  1. I should be getting ready to go out, but I wanted to pop in and see what the cute story was. So sweet. :-) (And good to know he loves Benjamin even though he torments the life out of him.)
