As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

The Morns Are Meeker

The morns are meeker than they were—

The nuts are getting brown—

The berry's cheek is plumper—

The Rose is out of town.

The Maple wears a gayer scarf—

The field a scarlet gown—

Lest I should be old fashioned
I'll put a trinket on.

  2. Awww, Cheryl, I love this post. Your pictures are beautiful, and I love how you put them all together with an Autumn poem. The trees around here continue to be breathtakingly gorgeous, don't they? I just can't get enough of them .....
