As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Thirty-One Days of ...

31 days of sleep deprivation

31 days of tea at midnight...vanilla honey camomile

31 days of looking through scads of files, looking for the right photo

31 days of "Oh my goodness, we have got to get our schoolwork done!"

31 days of thinking about 31 days

31 days of whispering/calling, "Kati, are you still awake?".... "Kati, are you still awake?"

31 days of no posts with pictures of my grandchildren!  (That will change soon!)

Late night computer session

BUT it was also...

31 days of meeting new friends

31 days of focus

31 days of sharing my heart

31 days of delight

Thanks to all who joined me on this journey!

  3. So, here's how I get away with visiting you today... This isn't blogging, it's visiting a friend. I won't go read the posts I've missed until I'm done fasting. What I will do is say hi. I've missed your sweet encouragements, your sweet photos... a sweet correspondence. One thing I've learned by being away so long is that blogging is blogging. Comments are comments. But friends are friends whether or not we've met face to face. I'm thankful for the opportunity to enjoy your friendship. Now, shhh. Don't tell anybody I cheated. God knows my heart and I think He's smiling at this little visit!

    Blessings, Debbie

  5. Labor Intensive for sure! I am going back to read the ones I missed. I'm feeling pretty good about that because it is only 9:10 pm.

  6. I know that this is an older post, but I just wanted to tell you what a blessing this series has been to me. We moved to Delaware from Arizona last summer and I have been having a hard time making our rental home feel like home. My husband and I were just discussing our thoughts on why this might be and then I found this series on your blog and I feel it is from the Lord!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this!
Mrs. Rabe and Karen Anderola, both told me about your blog. :o)

    Love, Heather
