As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this nearly six-acre tract of land, this farmhouse, this domain—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sweet Glimpses of Spring

Does it ever seem to you that spring comes all of a sudden?  One day it is cold and the trees are bare and the grass is brown.  And then, almost imperceptibly, spring slips in and all is green and bright and bits of color are all around.

When Ron brought home our Friday night carry-out, he said, "We really need to eat out on the patio tonight."  So I hastily gathered drinks, napkins, ketchup, put it all on a wooden tray, and out we went to enjoy meatball subs al fresco.

Oh, it was a perfect evening...not cold, not hot, not humid.  The evening sun shone brightly.

Spring has sprung.

And we enjoyed spring in our little corner of the world.

The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.

Song of Solomon 2:12

  4. You really describe it well; that's how it happens, all of a sudden. Except this year it seems to have gone back and forth a bit. But I often think about how these cool, non-humid temperatures are perfect, and here in the south there's a short window. And speaking of windows, there's not many days when we can enjoy them open, for right now the pollen just pours in with the nice spring breezes. :-)
