As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sunday Snapshots: Hello Kitty


Well, our crazy August birthday season is over. But for the past three years we have kicked off the new month with another birthday, that of our youngest granddaughter Alaine!  



There was lots of pink and "Hello Kitty" and little girl-y gifts. Don't be fooled by the subdued "photo smiles"...the sweet birthday girl had a wonderful time at her party!

    I find birthdays (not of close family) that are the beginning of months sometimes easy to forget as I have all the birthdays written on my calendar, and if I don't turn the page until the new month I can have a surprise to deal with! Your birthdays seem to just keep coming! :-) Happy Labor Day.

    Sweet pictures! 18 years ago today (but not this date...if that makes sense) I was laboring with number 3 child. This birthday is the start of our Birthday Season and for some reason it always always always sneaks up on me. I guess I am a summer girl and am never fully prepared for the start of September.
