As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

CeLeBRaTe!! {Day 9 ~ A Real Life Story of a Birthday Celebration}

What a privilege to be able to celebrate a milestone birthday with a faraway friend!

Last month, we made plans to spend a few days in Lancaster while Ron was off in October. I emailed my friend Deanna to see if we could get together for dinner or something while we were there, and she graciously invited us to stay in their home!

In the meantime, her daughters Lindsay and Emily emailed us about some secret plans for a surprise birthday tea for Deanna! How fun is that?! Not only were we invited, we were part of the intricate plan to surprise her!

On Tuesday morning, the house was abuzz with activity and comings and goings as each person executed his or her role in the covert plan...and my lovely friend Deanna was truly surprised!!

CeLeBRaTion Tip of the Day:
Be open to opportunities to celebrate the occasions of life!
