The 3rd Annual Grand Weekend was full of smiles and cuddles, snacks and costumes, science and computer screens. Gavin (11), Maddie (9), Owen (7), Benjamin (5), and Alaine (3) arrived just before supper on Friday night, and the fun began!
Here are a few peeks...
T-U-G...
(Wonder who's on the other end?)
Papa!!
We think perhaps the hopscotch grid was a bit small. Hobbit hopscotch?
No matter. They had a great time hopping!
Yikes!! The boy is horizontal!!
(A Gran must turn her head.)
I took orders for sandwiches: peanut butter, turkey, or salami.
Each child places their order.
Ben: What about side dishes?
Gran (grinning): Sides are either grapes or carrots.
An edible science experiment.
(More about that in a later post.)
Another outdoor meal on Sunday, this time with their parents joining.
Real summer fare: hamburgers and hot dogs cooked on the grill, baked beans, heaps of corn-on-the-cob!
The 3rd Annual Grand Weekend flew by!
A fun family tradition! I think barbecue is on my radar for this coming weekend at home!
ReplyDeletePerfect! a weekend full of good memories. Blessings, Catherine
ReplyDeleteYou are a super Gran! Love what you do with your grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteMine lives with me and I care for her everyday, so I feel as if she doesn't get special attention unless she goes to my parents house!
Ah well, the Lord knows what she needs. I am delighted to have her here daily.
Deanna
Looks like you all an awesome time! :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat event for older Grands to plan for the young Grands. Great memories for all!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing your weekend!
ReplyDeleteFun fun fun! Such a "grand" memory-maker :-)
ReplyDeleteAll those good memories you are making!
ReplyDeleteYour photos capture all the energy and fun! What a special time, it reminds me of a friend's large family who have "camp" at their grandma's house for a week each summer. They too have a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI have slipped to 10th place! LOL! Looks as if you enjoyed a wonderful weekend with many activities going on! Got a kick out of Maddie's riding Bekah's missing leg in the tug of war. Was Papa really able to hold the line against all that youth and energy?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very fun time at your house for the Grands. You are a wonderful grandmother, Cheryl!
