As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Rejoice!

The recurring theme that has pervaded my thoughts this Christmas is REJOICE! Over and over the word has come to me...through carols and contemporary Christmas music, through greeting cards, through the Scripture, through the still, small voice that has whispered it in my spiritual ear.

It is entirely appropriate to rejoice! Even if you are stressed. Even if all is not going well in your world. Even if you are filled with grief or heartache.

We can rejoice because a Savior has come to redeem!

We can rejoice because He became flesh, and paid the penalty for our sin!

We can rejoice because "God with man is now residing!"

We can rejoice if our names are written in Heaven!

A few recommendations...

Cranberry Pecan and White Cheddar Cheeseball
I've made this for two gatherings so far, and I'm making another one today. Yum.

My friend Joanne tells a tender story about a gift of love.
(Don't let that face scare you off!)

May your celebrations be marked with rejoicing!

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy."
Matthew 2:10
