As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Fresh Paint

Paint

It is a marvel. It is one of the cheapest (relatively speaking), quickest decorating tools.

Paint is what we're all about here at Pineapple House this week! The four of us and a generous friend are painting the living room and dining room. Of course, those are the biggest rooms, so the house is a giant mess. That kind of bothers my brain, but I am thinking ahead to the end product: a fresh, clean space that fits our style and our stuff.

Now, I need to pick up my paintbrush and get back to work...so I don't get fired! :)

  2. My favorite way to paint is to take off in my car and come back when it's done! You are going to love your new fresh coated rooms for sure once it's done.

  3. I hear you, Cheryl. It's disruptive but will be lovely before too long. ♥

  4. I can't tell what's new and what's old but I'll look forward to seeing it when it's finished!

  5. Our youngest son just purchased his first home. It is an older home and painted like a Mexican restaurant! It has lovely crown molding throughout, including the coveted dental molding...all painted dark brown and the walls are orange. Yes, orange! He has a task on his hands and I wish he lived closer, but I can't wait to see the freshly painted white molding and pale grey walls. You are correct, painting is a quick decorating fix! Happy painting!

  8. Paint really does make a big difference rather inexpensivly. Though not my favorite chore, I appreciate the fresh look. Looking forward to seeing your warm and inviting home as you have created before.

  9. Your paint color reminds me of one we painted in the 1929-house, in Elkton, MD. The paint color was titled "toasted marshmallow." The house also had three window all in a row and built in bookshelves. The Pineapple House is looking "you." And fabulous.
