As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Glimpses...and a Greeting!

Around our house this week...

It's a little blurry in the evening light, but I love this photo capturing a moment my littlest grand.

Do you see him?

Mild He lays His glory by,

Born that man no more may die!

May your celebrations be joyous as you celebrate His light and life!

  2. Oh I LOVE this post, Cheryl! The packages are just beautiful with their plaid bows. And I love the look of your work station...with the peanut M&M's? They'd be gone in a flash around here. Wonderful family photo and of course your message at the end and our hope because of a Savior. Have a joyous Christmas as we celebrate his birth!

  3. What a heart warming post! Such beautiful light in your house--my guess it's candles and tree lights that brings such a warmth. Your packages look great and fit into your house's style so well. Have a joy filled celebration of the Savior's birth!

  4. That is a very sweet postcard and I also am very much enjoying the one that arrived here at the Haven this week. Sweet photo of you and Macie; I see that she's going to be a reader like the rest of the family.

I had to make a grocery store run this morning for rosemary and cranberries. I was at a major grocery store in "the city" and they had no cranberries! Can you believe it? I finally found some "organic" ones for a fee. =D Anyway, I now have three beautiful ice cubes waiting for the Christmas punch bowl all thanks to you and Bekah! Merry on, folks!

  5. I too like the photo of you and your precious grand. What a nice keepsake photo for her! Your packages are wrapped so lovely with pretty plaid bows and pretty pineapple tags. I think I see a little face in the tree. Hopefully he didn't get into trouble.
I made your cranberry cheese ball for an open house we attended and have another in the fridge for Christmas. Like Vee, my ice ring is ready in the freezer for your Scarlett O'hara punch. Thank you for sharing these recipes.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, dear one. ♥
