As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Pinky

💕 PINKY ðŸ’•

We're not sure when she was born, but she came to us a little over ten years ago.
She was petite and bold and needy and full of attitude,
and she had a loud, deep voice that startled everyone.

And she won her way into our home and into our hearts.

Several weeks ago, our Pinky had a stroke.
She seemed to recover, but then she had at least two more strokes.
From the last one, she did not recover.

We were so sad to let her go, and we'll miss her dearly,
but we are glad that she was a part of our lives.

  2. So sorry about this. We've had three kitties in the last 30 years and, like you said, they just touch our heart and become part of the family. What a pretty kitty she was - I know you'll miss her.

  4. Oh dear Pinky...she looks so much like my grandkitty who is one ancient kitty for sure. I know the hole they leave when gone. I do like to think that kitties have a special place in Heaven. How loving of God to provide us with pets who comfort and bring joy. Love to all...

    1. I really do feel like she was a gift to us from God. The girls (especially Bekah) wanted a cat so badly . . . and the Lord sent two cats to us!

Thank you for your kind words. ♥

  8. It certainly is such a sad thing to lose a pet and I am so sorry to hear that you lost your sweet Pinky. We have recently started feeding several feral cats in the neighborhood and one of them in particular has gotten so brave...she will almost let me pet her...she actually looks a lot like Pinky. These cats have also made a cat lover (liker?) out of my Jim, a miracle in itself! Sending you hugs as you remember her with love.♥
