All through the fall, I have added a pumpkin here, a gourd there, some autumn potpourri and colorful leaves. Bit by bit.
And now that November is here, am I ready to put it all away and move on to Christmas decor?
Not at all!
In fact, now it's time for turkey!
I made this primitive turkey about ten years ago and I look forward to getting him out every November. He has landed in many places through the years. This year he's in the kitchen, hanging out with the cook.
He still makes me smile.

He's darling! You are so talented.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vee! I actually followed some online instructions (I linked to them in my original post ten years ago), so I feel like the real talent was the creator. But it was fun!
DeleteSo glad he feels safe to hang out with the cook, Cheryl. Is he in front of an old game board? Quite a handsome piece with the hearts.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Martha Ellen! It never occurred to me that he might feel a little uneasy in the kitchen! 😂 I'll have to reassure him that he's safe with me. The game board is a reproduction that I found in a lovely country gift shop where I worked part time many years ago.
DeleteHe's a handsome bird, and in no danger of being roasted and stuffed!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, he is totally safe! :) Thanks, Lorrie!
DeleteHe would make me smile, too. Nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen! :)
DeleteGood job on that turkey. He's adorable. I am in Thanksgiving mode, so it is all things turkey for me. After Thanksgiving, then I will think about Christmas. I like to celebrate one holiday at a time.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I am the same way. And I absolutely love Thanksgiving, so I hang onto it as long as possible!
DeleteVery attractive! Tasty too maybe?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara! I'm afraid this turkey would be a bit dry. ;)
