As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this nearly six-acre tract of land, this farmhouse, this domain—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Salad On Tuesday: Week 5 {Cheeseburger Salad...aka A Man Salad}

When my friend Jill shared three summer salad recipes with me, two of them appealed to me immediately.  I confess that I looked at this one, however, and thought, cheeseburger salad?  But Jill had said that they were "all very good in very different ways," and Jill knows her salads.  And when I presented the three ideas to Ron, he immediately got excited about Cheeseburger Salad!

Oh, I am so glad I tried it because it. was. delicious.

Think "cheeseburger" with great toppings and, instead of a bun, the most delicious croutons you've ever eaten.  And if there is a man in your house, I'll bet he will love it.  As a matter of fact, if there is anyone in your house, I'll bet they'll love it.

(This recipe comes to you from me from Jill from the Pioneer Woman, so instead of the recipe, I have provided the link, and you can read it in the Pioneer Woman's own inimitable style.)

This is another keeper.  We'll definitely be eating this again this summer!

  1. Hi Cheryl,

    I love the Pioneer Woman. I watch her on the Food Network but didn't venture to see if she had blog. Interesting recipe which I will try. The Deluxe Chicken salad was awesome, served it for a crowd last weekend. Thanks for the ideas.

  4. Fantastic! I am making that this weekend!

    The meat is cooked very similarly to how I do my own sloppy joe meat! Tasty!

    I think everyone will like it! In fact we have a fellowship meal at church this week...I am going to make it for that! Yes!

    Hope you're well...I am crazy busy..having to be in the store on Emily's days as well as mine since she is away!
