As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sunday Snapshots: Church Picnic
What do you do when your church fellowship planned weeks ago to have a cook out on a particular Sunday evening...and then that particular Sunday evening is oppressivelyhot and humid?
Oh we're doing crockpot foods because even the thought of cooking out isn't working for us. The eating in. These very humid, hot days make it a challenge to enjoy the great outdoors, yet I remember a time...
The watermelon looks so fine that I must find some today. Wal*Mart had none last night. Can you imagine?!
The kids and I have been hiding indoors during the heat as well. We only venture out in the early morning to tend to the garden and chickens and squeeze in a little bit of play.
Tim is better with the heat and still bikes to and from work everyday.
That is what we have done here recently...
ReplyDeleteIt works beautifully!

I see you've been playing! ☺
