"Don't let me ever buy another mug," I say to my family on the day that I am dealing with this collection during the china closet makeover.
But look at what I drank my morning coffee from today.
Swoon.
In my defense, I was not looking for a mug. This was in a display at the check out line. (They put things there for people like me.) But you know how I feel about Warren Kimble! And it was only $2.99. What was I to do but add this one to my collection of Warren Kimble mugs? ~sheepish grin~
What would you have done?
I'd likely give in, too, but only if it were a blue and white china mug. A girl's gotta have her principles, you know. Warren Kimble for you - blue and white for me.
ReplyDeleteI'd have bought it, too, if I were you! It is your favorite artist, it was a great price, it is so perfect! I would just cull the other mugs and only keep the ones I loved. We had to do that a few years ago, after years of Christmas gifts of snowmen mugs, etc from the kids, purchased from the dollar store!
ReplyDeleteIt's an on going battle here because we love pottery, and dishes and tea cups…..
Well, I know you know!
Happy Friday!

It looks just like what you would have in your house, so of course!
ReplyDeleteI'm very monogamous with my mugs. I like them to have a hefty handle that I can fit my fingers through, and be a certain weight and balance in my hand.
ReplyDeleteI have one mug that is mine, allllll mine, and if others drink from it, they get warts everywhere!
Hands down...I would have purchased it. I've even boxed up some mugs instead of getting rid of them. Oye...
ReplyDeleteI'm picky about what I drink from...
Thanks for making me smile this morning!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you bought it...
ReplyDeleteI used to have mugs on racks all along my soffits in the kitchen and then some in the cupboards. I got so many for gifts and hated to cut down, but when I moved...they had to go. Just my favorites are here today. I still look at them in the stores.

I know exactly what you're talking about! Yet, I bought a new mug at the quilt show this week. Oh well, just one more.....
ReplyDeleteSome purchases are not optional even if they are not necessary. Don't tell Dave Ramsey that I said that.

ReplyDeleteA red barn, like the one pictured on your new mug, is so genuinely American - especially if it is painted ruby-red. I like red covered bridges, too, don't you? They have become too rare, but when we find one it is a head-turner. Therefore I know why this mug caught your eye. It would make a cute server for homemade bread twists, yum, on a patriotic day.
I'm a fan of his too, so I would have done the same thing, LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhy buy the mug of course, lol. It's soo cute. I used to have a GIGANTIC collection of mugs as well, but got rid of 98% of them when we moved here. Just NO WHERE to put them, lol. Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I had to giggle at this, because I am definitely a mug hoarder too. I just love them! Plus, I'm always drinking hot beverages and I like to have options of mugs to drink from so it doesn't get boring. =)
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! I would have done the same!
ReplyDeleteHow you must have enjoyed your morning coffee :-)
But, on a side note - when I saw the title of your post arrive in my inbox, I clicked over thinking I was going to see a photo of beautiful you! (nice play on words)
I love Warren Kimble's work. I have a couple of his flags and one is hanging on the patio now. Of course you "needed" it! ♥
ReplyDeleteYou did right bring that beauty home! Too hard to resist :)
ReplyDeleteYou can always make room for one more mug that you love!
ReplyDeleteI can't resist a good mug either! There's just something about them. :)
