As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sunday Snapshots: July Birthdays

Summer birthday season is upon us!

Time to celebrate!

Of course, their parents plan birthday festivities for each child (a family party, an extended family party, friends over, a special outing...) and we are often included in the celebration. Even so, Gran and Papa like to mark each birthday with a little something special at our weekly Sunday gathering. So this week, we honored the dear grand-girlies who have July birthdays: Eve, who will be 9 this week, and Maddie, 12 at the end of the month.

Puzzle races!
Everyone put together the same puzzle, trying to do it in the least amount of time.

Keeping score.

Later this week...
A post about the updated living room and dining room here at Pineapple House. I'll show you what we've done, share lots of pictures of the space, talk about paint colors, and tell you our plans for a few more tweaks.

  6. Your family pics are always sweetness. Two pics stand out...perhaps three. Ron and grandson, your daughter (looking like one of the kids) coloring, and the polka dot cupcakes. Oops, make it four because the photo of Kati and Bekah with the littlest grand is precious, too. Happy birthday to Eve and Maddie; it is wonderful to be celebrated more than once!

  7. What sweet family memories being made here. The photo(s) which are stand-outs have to be that littlest one peeking up behind the table to see what's going on with those cupcakes and candles...such a darling little photo-bomber! Can't wait to see your updates to the Pineapple House :)
