As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Octopus In My Refrigerator

Right there between the salad dressing and the eggs.

Yes, octopus. 🐙  Kati and her boyfriend Andrew are going to cook it this evening.

Have you ever eaten octopus? Would you try it? What is the most exotic thing you have ever eaten?

  1. Oh boy. Octopus in your fridge - it's hard to beat that for uniqueness. I've not eaten it, but I'd give it a taste. A wee little taste at first. If it's rubbery, that's all I'd have. Do let us know.
    Happy New Year, Cheryl!

  2. I've actually eaten octopus (in Spain) and loved it. I think you will too but it does look creepy there in your frig. I'm glad to hear "he's" there (not the octi.)

(I thought I had my comment problem solved but not so sure now.)

  4. Ooo - can't wait to hear all about how it turned out! I would try it and like deep fried calamari. Most exotic thing I've eaten is probably Dim Sum in Hong Kong or raw oysters on the half shell in Florida?

  6. Yes, I have eaten octopus. It was 1971. Hadn’t had any before; haven’t had any since. 😏 Let us know how it goes. Happy New Year!

  7. Wow, it sounds like your daughter and friend are adventurous eaters. I have eaten octopus in Italy. It was delicious, but I must say preparing certain meats make me a little squeamish! Happy New Year! ♥

  10. Not my favorite, but perhaps it depends on how it’s cooked. Creepy looking in your fridge! Kati and Andrew are quite the pair!

  11. We were in a major grocery store a little while back. They had an octopus on display in the meat counter. I asked the attendant if they sold many of them and surprisingly they do. I did notbuy one but the clerk and I had an interesting conversation. Happy New Year to you and your family. Sharon D.
