It didn't start out to be a party.
But after lunch, someone wanted to play Christmas Carol Charades...
...and then we had dessert
with coffee or hot chocolate or mint hot chocolate or Winter Spice tea
with coffee or hot chocolate or mint hot chocolate or Winter Spice tea
...and then a piano duet by the eldest and youngest daughters
who played "Silent Night."
So when everyone left, the littles each clutching a candy cane,
it felt like we had celebrated.
(I think it was a party.)
It sounds like a party to me! A perfect sort of one, too. Christmas carol charades...must file that thought.
ReplyDeleteI love the charades idea. We'll be playing this week while with family on vacation.
ReplyDeleteI agree.. it sounds like a party. Love those spontaneous kind...with everyone in the right frame of mind!
ReplyDeleteIt'll probably be one of those cozy memories you'll remember down the years!
I think the unplanned parties might be the very best parties of all! The kind where the heart and the love dictate what will come next. I love the thought of the "littles" clutching their candy canes! And I can almost hear the sweet refrains of "Silent Night".
