Contented sighs.
Today was one of those perfect weather days. The sun was shining, it was warm but not hot, and the humidity was delightfully low. A friend in our church fellowship observed, "If it was like this all the time, we couldn't afford to live here."
So we took dessert and coffee out to the patio and soaked it in. The perfect weather, that is, not the dessert and coffee. Although, come to think of it, I suppose we soaked that in too. Blueberry Cheese Pie (recipe ~here~) and Klondike Bars. Which would you choose?
A black swallowtail joined our dessert party as she sipped sweet nectar from the white verbena.
Adults relaxing, little girl on the deck, big girls picking a few remaining strawberries. |
We're also sighing because...
The kitchen project is complete!
I thought that we'd all be jumping up and down. Instead, we are sighing with happy contentment, glad to have some breathing space. Right in the middle of our kitchen remodel, Ron's workplace went through some major changes, requiring him to work some very long and stressful hours. But he plugged away at it for the past six weeks, checking something off his list almost every evening and every Saturday. He is a gem.
Yesterday morning was the final paint touch up...and it. is. done. Happy sigh...
Tomorrow: AFTER photos!
Made my day once once more, great post..two thumbs up!:)
ReplyDeleteHappy sighs!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe weekend had lovely weather - we got a rain storm last evening but the day wasn't ruined by it!
I can't wait to see the photos!!!!!

I would definitely pick the blueberry cheese pie:) Your patio looks wonderful, as does your strawberry patch.
ReplyDeleteI would like the blueberry cheesecake, and later maybe a Klondike bar.
ReplyDeleteIt was beautiful here, yesterday, too, Cheryl. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and relaxed outside by the pond. I would love to bottle days like this and release them in the middle of July.
So happy your kitchen is completed, I can just hear those sighs of relief, as you enjoy a job well done. There have been a few of those heard around here too! Smile~
Hugs,
Sue
Such a sweet photo of you with all the grandchildren at the picnic table. May I have both? Blueberry is my favorite, but I do not turn up my nose at Klondike bars. Love the comment from your friend about the weather. Guess no one will be shoving us out of town anytime soon, though they've done a good job of shoving us off the coast.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about the kitchen reveal! Your poor hubby. Hope he's got no big projects at work or at home.
Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteWhat an idyllic afternoon. And can't wait to see the kitchen!
