As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Note Card Party: Ice Cream

The photos I have chosen for Vee's August Note Card Party have a definite summer theme!

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

At our house, summer and homemade ice cream go hand in hand.
Join us as we dish some up...

How about some good old vanilla (so you can add toppings!)?

Or some of my favorite, chocolate?

Want to get crazy and eat some tutti-frutti?

No matter what kind you choose,
it is a thrilling moment when the lid comes off
and that creamy sweetness is revealed!

BONUS:

The children like to sit on the trampoline when they eat their ice cream.
They have done it for years.

Can you find one that is different?

{Silly Uncle Ryan!}

Do you have a blog?

  4. I've not yet had my breakfast. Now I'm thinking that a dish of ice cream would make a good one. Is your ice cream maker electric or do you use kid power? I'll have to go back and look more closely. Great theme for these muggy days of August!

  5. I realized as I looked through these that we haven't used our ice cream maker all season. In fact, I don't remember using it last year.

    Hmmm....

Loved your choices, and I think all kids need a silly uncle. I had one!

  7. Oh this makes me want some icecream! Reminded me of my days of young when my papa would sit outside and churn us kids some good ole vanilla icecream! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  8. How adorable, a trampoline and an ice cream social. All of your photos are wonderful. I think they are great as note cards, and it looks like it tasted wonderful from the expression on the children's faces.
