As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Photo-a-Day Challenge ~ Week 4

Another week of taking pictures for Kati's June photo challenge...a photo-a-day...

Click ~here~ to see lots of great photos...or to link your own!

day 22: green
A new wreath for my front door. Faux boxwood.
You know how I love faux...although I am picky about it.
If you have to get up really close to see whether or not it's the real deal, then I am happy.
(And I found it at Tuesday Morning, so I was also happy about the price tag.)

day 23: pair
A pair of pewter salt and pepper shakers.

day 24: hot
I am not a fan of hot weather, but I am a fan of this kind of hot.

day 25: cold
I am also a fan of this kind of cold. Iced coffee is the bomb, and one of the things that I love about summer.

day 26: thermometer
On the back porch.

day 27: fruit
Apricots on a small pewter pedestal. Yum!

day 28: yellow
Golden yarrow leans over the brick path to the back door.

I'll be posting my photos for the final two days sometime next week.

In the meantime, I'll be here on Monday, the final day of June, where I'll be Gathering the Moments.
Feel free to join in...with a little or a lot, words or not.
(The link-up will be open for about a week.)

  1. Lovely! I need to find a good price on faux boxwood. I've seen some preserved and it's crazy expensive! I have tons of boxwood, and should consider learning to preserve it myself! Love the way it looks!

This month has flown by, hasn't it?

  2. I'm rather sad that this challenge is coming to an end. I've really enjoyed seeing how each person interpreted Kati's prompts.
Your wreath is striking against the black door. Tuesday morning is a great place to find quality bargains.
I'm going to have to try out the new DD to see if I like their iced coffee. I might just have to nab a donut, too ;-)
    Day 24... great minds!
I'm still looking for my Day 28 photo op. Yikes! Your yarrow is beautiful!

  3. So many gals find amazing things at Tuesday Morning! I must give it another chance. Gee, does it defeat the purpose and meaning of a photo a day challenge to do the final two early? LOL! You play according to Hoyle!

I am sitting here thinking of your photos and not able to look back so am not cheating and the one I remember best beyond the wreath is the one of the apricots on the pewter stand.

  4. I love stopping in at Tuesday Morning. I collect cups and cereal bowls and have found some cute ones there.
Love your thermometer! Did you find it at TM, too?

  5. Cheryl, the thermometer was a Cracker Barrel find from several years ago.

  6. I've enjoyed looking at a number of photo-a-day blogs and I hope Kati repeats her challenge sometime. Love the apricots on the pedestal. They remind me of some of the old-style still life paintings.

  7. always enjoy your photo tours, Cheryl - lovely as always!
We've been enjoying our pink yarrow - my two youngest bring in the blooms with a fist full of daisies. I'm thinking I should add some of the golden yarrow into that flower bed :-)
