Yesterday, I cried uncle.
I gave up my wait for autumn temperatures (the weatherman says it will feel fallish by the weekend, but really . . . will it ever be out of the 90's?) and Bekah and I jumped in the van and went out and grabbed some fall!
What's the weather like where you are? Endless summer? Delightfully fall? Dreadfully chilly?
I'm sorry it's still so warm there. Actually, it was close to 80 and raining here yesterday. I like it better when our high temp is 65. Time spent with a daughter is always wonderful, isn't it. Hope you have a great week, and yes, cooler temps!

DeleteA decided change in the weather overnight...rain and cool 50°s. It’s a puttery day! Hope that the promised cooler temps do arrive this weekend. I know how welcome they will be. I purchased some Keurig pumpkin spice coffee yesterday. Not yet sure how I feel about it after my morning cup of coffee. That’s a great price on those mums! Ours are a bit pricier up here, which is why I am not going to purchase more than the small ones already purchased for the graves and one wee yellow one for myself. I want some three medium pumpkins to climb the outside steps since there’ll be no ladder climbing to place pumpkins on the transom window ledge.

I love a puttery day, Vee! These pumpkins and mums were at a farmstand out in the country. We stumbled on it last year and made a point to return this year. We also visited my sister- and brother-in-laws stand. I think that prices are better at these privately owned places, sold directly from the farmer.

Fall hasn't arrived here yet in s.e. FL. I worked outside for 2 hours, sweating. Temp 83, real feel 88, humidity 73%, cloudy, breezy and I got rained on a couple of times. Last week I was able to do 2 hours of outside work one morning, then do three the next. That's a huge difference from not feeling like doing anything at all outside all summer long. I am thankful I am still able to get my exercise this way and always glad when the temps drop.

DeleteThis morning there was a hint of frost on the roofs. I'm hoping the dahlias will hang on just a bit longer. It's supposed to begin raining tomorrow and that will warm things up a wee bit. A pot of mums speaks fall in volumes! Enjoy faux fall and I hope the real thing arrives soon for you. I can't imagine 90 degrees in September/October.

It was wierd hot today!! Then the thunderstorm came and cooled things off a bit. The colours are starting in the trees and it get's dark so early - starting to feel Fall. Happy October to you.

It has been so hot...just plain nasty and dry here but relief is coming this weekend...right as we get ready to load up the trucks and head to TN...perfect timing! And wow, what great prices on those mums and pumpkins! Anyway, there won't be much room in the RV for many decorations! Happy Fall!

We are used to 95+ degrees and humidity down here but it seems more intolerable the longer it lasts, especially into October! And I almost don't remember what rain is like, it's been so long! But we know cooler temperatures will come eventually.

DeleteYou must be in the South! My daughter and sons live in Texas and Oklahoma and my daughter wrote me and said Fall has arrived 'cause it's only 85 degrees. I love Fall and everything that goes along with it.

Oh my. Fall is 85 degrees?! We are in Maryland (the state which Northerners consider South and Southerners consider North 😉) and fall weather is all over the place here. But summer did seem to go on forever this year!
