As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sunday Snapshots: A "Dress-Up" Birthday Party

Yesterday, Bekah dressed to the nines,

her dad dressed...umm...ummmm...
(there are no words),

Kati and I added a few accessories to our usual look,

and off we went to a dress-up birthday party to celebrate
Maddie's 9th and Owen's 7th birthday!

Kristin had set up a photo booth.
What fun we all had posing for the camera!

Here are the birthday girl and boy.

And here are the brothers.
(The littlest sister was the cutest Hello Kitty you ever did see, but she was camera shy yesterday.)

Dad and Mama got in on the dress-up fun.

There were TWO representatives from Downton Abbey!
(And no one was surprised at which two.)

The grandparents.

No one was surprised at Aunt Kati either.

There was a game of "Musical Hats", some dress-up props, and a mustache cake.  Fun, fun!

Happy Birthday to Maddie and Owen!
