As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Still Rejoicing and Weeping

When I wrote this post yesterday, I had no idea that by nightfall my father-in-law would be with the Lord.  He is no longer bound by this temporary world and its suffering, but he has met His Maker face to face.

  1. Cheryl, I'm sorry for your loss but happy to know he's in the hands of our Maker! I'll keep you and your family in my prayers as you mourn the loss of your father-in-law.

  2. Oh, my prayers are with you and everyone who loves him. Praising God that he's finally home...

The hardest/best thing about waiting for the kingdom is watching others go.

    Hugs, Debbie

  3. So sorry to hear of your father-in-law's passing, but I'm rejoicing with you that he is finally home!
