As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

"The Tabernacle of God is With Men"

Last evening, we celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles with our son Ryan and his family. They have built a Sukkah on their back deck and we shared a meal with them.

As Christians, we celebrated Jesus, who is our tabernacle, our dwelling place, our God!

I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying, Behold the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.

Revelation 21: 3,4

  1. It must have been interesting bringing this festival full circle to worship Jesus.

  2. How precious to share this special time with your son and his family, Cheryl. ♥

  3. A lot of thought and work went into that Sukkah and what a neat way for you to celebrate God's promises.

  4. Wonderful to celebrate Jesus!

  5. Jesus Himself went to Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
These are God's Holy Days, not the Jews. They are for Jews and Gentiles alike.
