As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

{30 Days of Thankfulness} Day 24

Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

  1. Pastor spoke from this Psalm in Sunday School this morning. Psalm 103 was my dear old pop's favorite Psalm. Happy Thanksgiving week to you and yours!

    1. Oh yes . . . that's a great idea! I don't memorize as easily as I once did, but it is worth the effort to hide such Words in our hearts.

    1. I know a song that includes part of the Psalm. I wonder if we're thinking of the same one. Regardless, it is beautiful and rich!
