Bekah's 24th birthday fell on a Sunday, so I encouraged her to celebrate with a Friends & Family party this year! She hemmed and hawed (she's not always comfortable being the center of attention), but she finally decided to do it.
The festivities began even before her party!
The music team sang Happy Birthday to her when she arrived for rehearsal, and then the ladies of our Sunday School class brought Bekah a cupcake and sang to her.
After church, friends and family came for lunch and games!
Ron surprised her with a bouquet of flowers for the table.
Bekah requested a sundae bar for her birthday dessert . . .
It was a lovely gathering and Bekah felt celebrated and loved!
It has been a busy month for us with lots of activities and hosting and responsibilities amidst the fun things.
Tomorrow we look forward to celebrating the greatest event in history: the resurrection of our Lord! We serve a Living Savior! We will have a fellowship breakfast at church, followed by a special worship service. In the afternoon, Kristin and her family and my mom will join us for a holiday meal. I'll be playing by Resurrection Day playlist on Spotify. (Actually, I've been listening to it all month.)
Good times ahead! Much to celebrate!

Happiest of birthdays to dear Bekah! What a fun celebration for her. Sounds like you had a glorious Easter celebration, too. Such a great day to celebrate our living Savior! Now I'm going to click on your spotify playlist. One song we cherished this weekend was Wonderful, Merciful Savior.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen, for the birthday greetings which I will pass along to Bekah! We did have a joyful Easter celebration, and I trust that you did too! Oh, that song . . . one of my (many) favorites!
DeleteI'm glad Bekah was well celebrated. Such a lovely young woman. Easter is my favourite celebration of all, I think, full of the hope and joy that Christ's Resurrection means for me, and for the world.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lorrie! Oh yes, Christ's death and Resurrection makes all the difference!
DeleteBeautiful photos of a lovely birthday for Bekah. You have a lovely blog. Warm greetings from a baby boomer in Montreal, Canada.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, Linda, and for your kind words!
DeleteHappy birthday to your beautiful Bekah!! What a lovely way to celebrate - you always do it so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Rosella! You are always so encouraging! It is such a joy to celebrate our people, isn't it?
DeleteIt sounds like Bekah had a great birthday celebration. What a beautiful gathering of young and old(er) to honor your youngest daughter's day. I love the idea of a sundae bar for a birthday dessert. Well, any dessert, honestly.
ReplyDeleteYes, she did have a great celebration! In the end, she was happy that she went ahead with the party, and overcame her hesitancy.
DeleteHaha! "Well, any dessert, honestly" made me laugh! I think that's most of us! :)
