Blogging.
I am slower and slower.
Slow to post.
Slow to comment.
I sometimes look at my sidebar and wonder how I was able to post over 200 posts some years. And those were the years when I was busy with homeschooling. (What?!)
I am slow in other areas of my life too, not just blogging.
Demands are many. There are new things to learn and more mountains to climb, all while concentration, speed, and energy lag.
Demands are many. There are new things to learn and more mountains to climb, all while concentration, speed, and energy lag.
But on I go.
Just like this girl who graduated from high school seven years ago . . . took some time to think . . . found herself in the middle of a pandemic . . . started an office job . . . decided to go to college . . . and is now about to graduate summa cum laude!
She just kept on going.
So I will follow suit and keep on going.
Because moving forward, however slowly, is progress.
There is a spiritual lesson to be learned here too, I think.
The Christian life is not always one full of leaps and bounds. It is often simply quiet, persistent walking. It is endurance. It is keeping your hand in His and taking the next step.
Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
I Corinthians 15:58

I can so relate.
ReplyDeleteIs the girl your granddaughter? Congratulations to her!
Great-Granny Grandma, I am glad (or sorry?) that you can relate. We'll just keep on walking!
DeleteThis girl is our youngest daughter Bekah who recently turned 25. (My oldest granddaughter will be 22 this summer, so they're not so far apart in age!)
The race we run with the Lord as our goal has many ups and downs in it . . . the main thing is that we keep moving forward . . . sometimes the Hare and sometimes the Tortoise but always moving toward the goal, Jesus :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Connie! Thank you for that encouragement!
DeleteThis is such good advice! Sometimes our pace is slower, but as we keep going forward, our work is being accomplished. God bless!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right, Mrs. White! Our work is being accomplished if we keep on walking. Thank you!
DeleteI recognised Bekah! She has done so well. Tonight several of my blogfriends have written about 'keeping going'. I find, that getting older doesnt hep!
ReplyDeleteBekah has worked hard, and she has done so well.
DeleteAhhh . . . a theme. One of reality and encouragement! Most definitely aging is part of the challenge. You are a beautiful example of "keeping on!"
Congratulations to Bekah! Well done, young lady. Great post, Cheryl. Thanks for the encouragement!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ellen! I will pass your kind words along to Bekah! And thank you for your always-kind words and encouragement to me!
DeleteCheryl, as you once said to me many years ago, forging ahead - with joy.
ReplyDeleteOh, how well I remember those words and they are exactly what I need to hear right now! Thank you for that, Carol!
DeleteCongratulations to your girl! Your words remind me of Isaiah 41 - "They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Sometimes in life we fly, other times we run, and at other times we just put one foot in front of the other and walk. May you find joy in your path.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the congrats! I am passing all of these along to Bekah. :)
DeleteI love this verse! I appreciate the reminder of this truth and also your encouragement!
Oh, your words are true! I like what Lorrie commented "May you find joy in your path." That makes all the difference. Joy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Bekah!
I love that comment too . . . and, yes, joy makes all the difference! Thank you for your encouragement and your congrats to Bekah!
