As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Family Math

Kati told me this story about a day in their homeschool. She was having four-year-old Ellie practice counting. (How many forks are on the table? How many shoes are you wearing?)

Kati: How many grandparents do you have?

Elli: "Five."

Kati: "Five? Name them."

Ellie: "Grandma and Grandpa, Papa and Gran, and Aunt Bekah."

So now Aunt Bekah is an honorary grandparent and we think that is precious! 🩷

    1. We think it is so precious! Yes, I have heard that comment before. Ellie favors Kati who favors me.

  4. I do regret not writing down some of the things my children said when they were little. It's easy to forget. But I dont think Bekah will forget this one!

    1. Yes, it is easy to forget! But you're right . . . Bekah won't forget this! She loves being Ellie's "grandparent." :)

  5. Aww, that's so precious.
Aunt Bekah looks far too young to be a grandparent though, haha,
