As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

What Is Going On Here?!

A wake-up call at 6 am.

Lots of small-ish shoes lined up at my back door.

Reams of construction paper and gazundles of crayons on my kitchen table.

Double batches of Kraft macaroni and cheese.

Did you guess?

Yes, that's right! It was all due to the arrival of a baby blessing!

Grandchild #7: Alaine Claire

Here she is with her adoring Aunt Bekah.

And with her proud Papa.

And with her teary-eyed Gran.

A baby is never "old hat"!

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD:
and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Psalm 127:3

Children's children are the crown of old men;
and the glory of children are their fathers.
