As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Good News and Bad News

The good news is that the bathroom remodel starts today.

The bad news is that the bathroom remodel starts today.

It is also good news (very good news) that this remodel is mostly cosmetic. Thirty years ago our remodels usually involved rewiring and knocking out walls and replacing windows and hanging wallboard and weeks or months of disarray.  I cannnot get excited about such projects these days.  This time, we hope to make the needed improvements in one staycation week.

The totally worn out and mysteriously stained (under the surface) bathroom floor predicated this project.

Yuck!

So here goes...

  1. Ooh, I love your bathtub! I'm excited to see how this turns out! I'm with you on the big, overhaul type home improvements. They are a necessary evil. Can you believe some people actually enjoy that kind of thing? =)

  2. Yes, I understand the whole good news, bad news thing. You want to be excited but you can't quite get over the idea of the toilet in the yard!

I'm praying for you right now... There, done.

    Blessings, Debbie

  4. Mikalah...NO, I cannot believe that people can enjoy having their homes torn asunder for weeks on end. I didn't enjoy it when I was 20, let alone at 50!

Debbie...I am still giggling over your "toilet in the yard" comment. You nailed it!

Milah...thanks for understanding...and thanks for your kind words!
