As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Anticipation and Inspiration

I am not trying to build suspense with this delay in showing you my newly painted kitchen cabinets!

The delay is the result of my indecision about knobs for said cabinets.  Knobs which I didn't choose until several days into the project.  Knobs that are wood and thus needed to be painted.  Thirty-one knobs which need to "cure" and then be attached to the doors.

And then I will show you the completed Phase One!  I promise!

Oh, but I do have a special treat for you: a link to an inspiring post by Ingrid Schlueter about Making a House a Home.  It is a worthy read...and be sure to read all the way to the last two paragraphs where she gets to the crux of the matter.  You'll be glad you did.
