Autumn. The season in which I feel most at home. The season of refreshing and beauty and warmth and stunning displays of color. The season of crisp mornings and orange pumpkins and soup simmering and ambling walks with leaves crunching beneath feet.
I am so in love with autumn, that I must bring it inside and surround myself with it.
I decorate for other seasons. A summer seashell on the table by the back door, geraniums in the window boxes. Touches of green for spring, a rabbit, forsythia branches. Winter berries and vines, a few paper snowflakes, lots of warm candlelight.
But no other season finds its way into every nook and cranny of my home.
Here's a peek into some of my nooks and crannies...

Honestly! I think this is the most beautiful autumn decorating I've EVER seen. The simplicity is stunning. It takes my breath away and almost HURTS it is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love this kind of decorating...I have been moving more toward this style over the years....the photo of the little pumpkins on the mantle made me want to cry - it is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI feel as you do about Autumn. The only other time I do more decor is Christmas, but that is only up about a month.
Thank you for sharing your home...so lovely!

Very easy on the eyes natural decorating is... Lovely, calm, soothing decorating. I especially love the row of pumpkins on the sideboard/table.
ReplyDeleteAs always, simply beautiful, not overdone but just perfect. Love it. Love your home, your style, and your inspiring words.

All the little touches are wonderful. Those natural elements really do the trick.
ReplyDeleteIs that a big knobbly potato in the second from the bottom photo?
Cheryl,
ReplyDeleteHow beautifully you have decorated for autumn! I remember you saying it was your favorite season.
The pumpkins lined up, the single one on the farm table....wonderful.
Warm, welcoming, autumn-y. Love it.
This is so beautiful and elegant in its simplicity, using natural elements. Autumn, as you well know ;) is my favorite season, too. I feel I come alive this time of year, and everything about it speaks to me. Beautiful, beautiful decorating, Cheryl. A reflection of your beautiful soul. xo
ReplyDeleteLove all your fall decorating. The gourd in the last picture is especially stunning. Your home gives me such a feeling of serenity:)
ReplyDeleteI must pop back in and say that all of your sweet comments are overwhelming! I have been having keyboard issues, and have not been able to write e-mails to each of you yet, but I want you to know that I read each of your comments and appreciate anytime that you take the time to visit and "chat."
ReplyDeleteLorrie, the object in question is actually a (faux) gourd that I picked up at a Tuesday Morning store several years ago. It drew me because it was unique and looked real, right down to its blotchy surface. It didn't hurt that I found it on the clearance shelf sometime in the spring and paid only $2.99!
First, thanks for stopping by and for leaving a nice comment. We all live for comments!
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful. We noticed your rush light. My blacksmith husband makes those.
And the lamb on top of your cabinet, we have a cake mold like that.
Nice to meet you new friend!
Blessings
