As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

A Thought to Ponder...
"A cupful brimful of sweet water cannot spill even one drop of bitter water, no matter how suddenly jolted."
Ah yes, the untamable tongue!! I am doing a study on James this year. It has been so convicting to dwell on the life or death that can come from our tongue. Love this quote, yet another sweet reminder to check what is in my heart. tammy
Thank you for this reference today, Cheryl. It reminds me of Psalm 19:14 ♥
ReplyDeleteIt also is inline with what our pastor was speaking on tonight from I Cor 13. I love a good Amy Carmichael quote! Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteThat is so good! I am going to share it with my kids.

What a wonderful thought! Isn't Amy Carmichael the 'White Queen of the Cannibals' lady? I remember reading that book when I was a kid.
