As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

"Burnt Hills" Is On the Wall

It was certainly worth the wait!

This morning, we finished the frame, inserted the print, and...VOILA...hung the picture in its home in the kitchen!  It is just what was needed to freshen up my surroundings.  (Do you, too, feel the need for freshened up surroundings in January?)  I can't stop looking at that wall.  I love it!

The big picture, so to speak...

...and the close-up.

A happy ending for this story!

  1. Sweet!

I do love to freshen things up in January...all that white on my shelf is killing me...I am really a color girl at heart.

I'll be changing it up soon!

  2. I had to go visit Mr. Kimble's web site the other day when you began telling this story. I really enjoyed learning that he's from New England and that he runs a rather simple operation. What beautiful work he does! It looks right at home there...very nice!

  8. That print has found it's home. It's obvious it was made for that spot! And it couldn't have a nicer place to live...

  9. Cheryl, I can imagine myself sitting at your table there by the kitchen, lazily gazing at this print and pretending I was inside the scene, walking those hills and stopping at the individual homes to greet my sweet neighbors and friends. Sometimes, one of them would decide to join me on the rest of the walk and we would spend the whole afternoon talking together about Jesus.

This scene looks so beautiful on your wall over your loveseat (which in itself is such a sweet name, isn't it?). The next time I visit, you KNOW the first place my eyes are going to wander! I'm so happy you have a gift that you love so much.
