As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Thoughts I'm Pondering Today...

"If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don't want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all."David Livingstone, 1813-1873, Scottish explorer and missionary

"And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life."
Matthew 19:29

  1. Love the quote. I ordered the YWAM (Heroes For Young Readers) biography of David Livingstone from CBD for the kids. It is on back-order, but we will pass it along when it arrives and when we are done. (Think I could include another acronym in there?)

  2. It's interesting that responding by saying "yes" is both scary and the most secure thing possible.

  3. Cheryl, I really REALLY love this quote. I'm going to share it with my sister Nancy since I know it will be very meaningful to her as she's planning her return to Vietnam.
