As the name of my blog indicates, I spend a lot of time thinking about home. Of course, my Heavenly Home is the one that is eternal, so that’s where I need to lay up my treasures, and that’s the one I’m striving for. But in the meantime, I have been given this tiny piece of the here-and-now—this home on the edge of town, this family, this neighborhood—in which to serve Him. And, though this is in the earthly realm, I want the things that happen here to be investments in the Heavenly realm.

Sunday Snapshots: Frothing

Frothing?!

The first "ordinary" Sunday for several weeks, grilled burgers and hot dogs, five precious grandchildren, Kristin and Brian's 12th anniversary...and all I have to show you for Sunday Snapshots is frothing

It was just one of those days when the camera sat still while we lingered around the table and played games and ate ice cream and the big kids played a new mystery game on Wii and the little kids played blocks and were in and out and were on and off laps and we talked of autumn plans. It was a day to just be.

I'm not sure why the camera came out when we had coffee. Except that the frother was new, a gift for my gadget-loving coffee-loving guy who had a birthday this past week. I frothed (and splattered coffee on my family...yikes!) and we had gourmet coffee at home.

So frothing it is.

How was your Sunday?

  1. It sounds like a perfect Sunday. How important it is to have times like this when things are quieter and slow and you just "be"--- except it was a bit more with the frothing! How fun!

  2. Documenting the frother seems like a good idea to me...something new...something fun. Just "being" is a lovely idea!

  3. Sometimes the simple things are the best. No frothing here, but a lovely walk in the sunshine, grilled chicken for dinner and an episode of Foyle's War in the evening.

  4. What?! Ron didn't get a kitchen torch? ha ha! Days of just "being" are the best.

  5. Coffee and Sundays go together! Sounds like a lovely day. My Sunday was good especially after my nap. :)
