My daughter Kati is doing a photo-a-day challenge during the month of February...and I decided to join her! Although I am using her prompts to take a photo every day, I am going to lump mine together each Friday and post a week's worth at a time.
day 1: your view today
In my view last Saturday, Ron was preparing to install a television set in our bedroom. After years of one television only (intentionally so), we have decided to create a small sitting area for just the two of us. Now to clean off and rearrange this bookshelf...
day 2: words
I love the words of Charles Wesley! He wrote so many beautiful hymns.
This is the one we're currently learning in Morning Time.

day 3: hands
The hand of my sweetheart, helping me with the dishes.
(He doesn't mind washing, but hates drying. Fine with me!)

day 4: a stranger
This was the biggest challenge so far. Take a picture of a stranger? Ack!
I kind of skirted around this one by snapping a pic of this couple holding hands.

day 5: 10 am
Bekah is practicing piano, playing the hauntingly beautiful melody of "You Are My Hiding Place."
(You can't see me singing the words.)

day 6: dinner
After a day out of town, we came home to Chicken Tortilla Soup, hot and ready in the slow cooker. Yum!

day 7: button
Or a bunch of buttons...collected in a jar...
I may need to toss in a button photo to legitimately participate today. I like your idea of gathering the challenges into a week's worth collection. I will give this some thought. To all the dishwashers of the world...you go for it! I'd rather dry any day.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos! I would enjoy a bowl of that soup. It is lunch time and everyone is posting pictures of food. I should just go eat something this minute!
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a great start! A private "escape" for husband and wife within the home is a great idea. I somehow knew a lovely old hymn would make its way into your challenge. And that stranger day is sure to bring out the creativity in us all ;-) It is a sweet shot!
ReplyDeleteLovely snapshots of your week Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that you actually had three hand photos in all - I love the one you chose!
I intend to be more organised for Kati's link up next week!
That's a neat look at your week! I like this!
ReplyDeleteMine would be all snow! ha ha
That is neat that you and Ron are going to have an area by yourselves! So important.

Fabulous photos, Cheryl. It really is a wonderful challenge. Mother and daughter are doing great. xo
ReplyDeleteYou know Katie's photo challenge is certainly a way to get to know someone better. I enjoyed your week's photos. Hope you liked the soup --it was little spicy, right? Funny to see your dishes, I was visiting a friend last weekend and we were messing with these very dishes, as she unpacked them (they were her aunt's). She calls them winter dishes, do you use them only in the cold weather? They are so pretty and remind me of my JB's old mill pattern. Same vintage.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very ambitious project and you're doing great! The holding hands photo was very creative.
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl, I'm a blog friend of Kati's and I'm now following you too! I love this photo challenge you are doing! Take care and have a nice weekend.
